Donations and Sponsorships Needed for Small Non-Profit

Following are the event highlights:
  • Who – Devard Darling, graduate of FBISD Austin High with identical twin brother Devaughn who died during spring football practice at FSU in 2001. Devard was eventually drafted by the NFL and after a successful career with the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs and the Houston Texans retired in 2013.
  • What – the Darling Dash 5k is a fundraiser benefiting the As One Foundation which was established by Devard in honor of Devaughn. Proceeds will fund As One programs such as Operation Hydration, a Sickle Trait awareness program and the Devard & Devaughn Darling Scholarship Awards given to FBISD high school seniors annually.
  • Why – The Darling Dash will commemorate the 17th anniversary of Devaughn's death. It will also help further the mission of the As One Foundation to "To educate and increase awareness of sickle cell trait while encouraging youth to achieve their dreams in the face of life's challenges."Cash & in-kind Sponsors as well as volunteers are needed. 
  • When – Sunday, February 25, 2018, 8am
  • Where – Brazos River Park, Sugar Land, TX
